It depends on what type of ginseng you are using. There are many types of ginseng, the one that is not recommended for pregnant women are panax ginsengs which are Korean Ginseng, Chinese Ginseng and North American Ginseng. Panax Ginseng contains several steriod compounds that work similar to anabolic steriods which is why it is not recommended by doctors for pregnant women.
