Balancing Your Energy Input and Output

Having energy is critical for everything you do because your body can’t work properly when you lacked it. In order to utilize energy more efficiency, you need to pay attention to what you eat and do during the day.

Below are some tips for boosting and balancing your energy:

  • Eat more complex carbohydrates: This helps prevent your blood sugar from spiking which results in better energy flow through out the day. Whole grain cereal and bread and fresh vegetables are all good sources of complex carbs.
  • Stay calm and relax: Having too much stress and anxiety can drain you of energy, even when your body is at rest.
  • Avoid Stimulants: Caffeine and nicotine disrupt your energy balance because they overstimulate your cells and promote nutrient loss.
  • Control your body temperature: If you want to prevent fatigue, keep your body warm when it is cold and cool when it is hot outside. When you sweat and shiver, you body uses more energy which disrupts its energy balance.
  • Stay healthy: Living a healthy lifestyle will help reduce your risk of getting sick. Being sick upsets the energy balance in your body because your body ends up using more energy to fight viruses and bacterias.
  • Eat according to your needs: Eat more if you know you are going to have a busy day or going to the gym to workout. If you are too busy to eat, bring along healthy snacks to boost your energy. Avoid eating simple carbs because they are good at causing blood sugar spikes.
  • Energy level changes when you age: As you age, your metabolism will drop. To prevent weight gain and other health problems, you will need to adjust your calorie intake.
