Did you ever wonder how an energy drink mixed with coffee would taste like? Well, wonder no more because Hansen Beverage Company recently created one called Java Monster Loca Moca. There are currently 3 flavors of Java Monster which are Loca Moca, Big Black and Mean Bean. The one I’m reviewing today is the Loca Moca flavor.
At first I was not sure if I should review Java Monster Loca Moca because I’m not a big fan of coffee. In fact, I only tried coffee twice my whole life and never liked the bitter taste. In the end I decided to review Loca Moca to tell people that there are alternatives to coffee which is more important than my hatred against the flavor of coffee. I bought Java Monster Loca Moca at BP gas station for $2.49 which is pricey for a coffee energy drink. The 15 fl. oz. can is filled with a creamy light-brown energy juice and is slightly thicker than milk. The energy juice tasted sweet and creamy, yet bitter with a stale coffee aftertaste. I’m not a big fan of coffee so I gave Loca Moca a 6 out of 10 for taste.
The best thing about this energy drink was the energy level which was intense. Also, there was no bad side effects unlike most energy drinks with intense energy rush. Although, I did experienced light headaches and stomachaches. Its energy kept me energized for about an hour, then slowly faded away, followed by a light energy breakdown. Java Monster Loca Moca would be a great replacement for coffee because its flavor and energy are more superior.
Java Monster Loca Moca contains about half the caffeine of a regular coffee and is not recommended for pregnant women, children or people who are sensitive to caffeine. It also contains unhealthy ingredients, please drink with care.

The Monster Coffee is a staple of mine out here in the Afghan desert. It keeps me going all day long, has less calories than the ammount of coffee I used to drink and seems to not be as bad (health wise).
I look forward to the time when it is available anywhere. I had someone send some from the states and they couldn’t find it for a while. Too bad it isnt available here. Tastes better than the coffee we have here too.
Yes, I do agree that it taste better than coffee. I guess it depends on what kind of coffee you are drinking.
