Strengthen The Legs - Qigong Energy Exercise
Filed Under: Energy Exercise
This Qigong energy exercise is designed to tone the legs, shoulders, arms and increase their flexibility. According to the principles of Qigong, in-order to maximize your energy you need to connect with the vital energies of the Earth through your feet. One of the best ways to do this is to practice the Qigong exercise outside without wearing shoes. If you don’t feel comfortable enough to practice outside, find a comfortable place in your house to do this energy exercise. I recommend practicing in the basement to get closer to the vital energies of the Earth.
Qigong Walking Exercise - 5 Easy Steps
- Take off your shoes and socks, stand straight with your legs a few inches apart so you feel balanced, your arms should be by your sides. Don’t forget to breathe normally during each step.
- While raising both of your arms above your head, step forward with your right foot and transfer your weight to that foot. Your arms should be in a curved position above your head with your palms facing each other, palms should be a few inches apart and above your head.
- As you lift the left leg forward to make another step, move both of your hands down behind your head. Then sweep your hands over your shoulders and down to your thighs as you finish the left step.
- Transfer your weight to the left leg and lean forward by bending your knees and back. While bending forward, stretch your hands as far as you can toward the floor. Keep your palms facing the floor and don’t bend your knees too much so your hands don’t end up touching the floor.
- Stand up and go back to the starting position and repeat the walking exercise 9 more times, then switch legs and repeat the steps by starting with the left foot.
