It is nearly impossible to completely remove your body of toxins because they are everywhere. Toxins can be found in the air you breathe, the food you eat, and your body can even create toxins from too much stress. Even if you can’t get rid of all the toxins in your body, it is still important to reduce the level of toxins so your health and energy won’t suffer. Your body is designed to handle small level of toxins on a regular basis. When there are too much toxins in your body at once, your body will start to breakdown. This may make you feel nausea, sick, fatigue and you may experience chronic health problems later on in life.
How to reduce toxins in your body:
- Avoid processed food because it contains chemical preservatives and is low in nutrients.
- Avoid eating seafood that is from polluted areas such as the Gulf of Mexico. This area has high cases of paralytic shellfish poisoning due to the chemicals that are dumped into the shoreline from the Mississippi River.
- Don’t smoke or drink – when a cigarette is burned, it contains over 4,000 chemical compounds, such as carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, nicotine, tar, hydrogen cyanide and ammonia. Breathing in these chemicals will increase the levels of toxins in your body. Alcohol also contains a good amount of toxins. Too much alcohol in your system can damage vital organs, such as the brain and liver. The liver is especially important for removing toxins.
- Eat more organic fruits and vegetables because they are full of nutrients that can assist your body to remove toxins.
- Stay away from big cities, larger cities usually have more toxins in the atmosphere due to industrial and car pollutions.
- Drink 6 to 8 cups of water per day to help flush toxins from your body.
- Avoid grilled food and fried food because they are usually high in carcinogens.
- Vitamins are important for health but too much vitamins can be toxic. Watch what you eat and don’t consume too many fat-soluble vitamins.
- Try to exercise 3 times a week or more. Exercise increases blood flow and improves body functions.
- Go on a healthy detoxification program.
Your body has five major ways that it can eliminate toxins: the skin, the lungs, the colon, the liver and the kidney. Sauna bath is a great way to help your skin remove toxins through its pores. Breathing exercises help remove toxins through the lungs. Drinking water and supplying your body with the right nutrients will help remove toxins from the colon (fiber is a good source), liver and kidney. By reducing toxins in your body, you will have more energy to power you throughout the day.
