Dr Pepper/Seven Up, Inc. decided to join the energy drink battle by creating Venom Energy. The twist off aluminum can is filled with a yellow energy juice that is carbonated for extra flavor. The energy juice reminded me of beer because the color looked very similar to Bud Light when poured in a glass cup. The juice had a light raspberry-syrup smell and tasted like sweet-citrus with a light-sour aftertaste. Venom Black Mamba also had a light-syrup taste that made the juice sweeter. The sweet-citrus flavor is very similar to the popular Red Bull energy drink. At room temperature the sweet-syrup flavor is more noticeable; avoid drinking it warm if you hate sweet drinks.

Venom Energy Black Mamba is powered by B-vitamins, caffeine, sugar, ginseng, taurine, glucuronolactone, L-carnitine and guarana. Venom did a great job mixing the energy blends together because the energy rush was intense. After taking a few gulps of the sweet-citrus energy juice, I felt an intense energy-head-buzz that peaked for thirty minutes and noticeable for over two hours. Overall, Black Mamba’s energy was better than average but the energy did not last long. I was surprised that I did not experienced any major side effects, such as headaches from the intense energy rush. I recommend Venom Black Mamba for people who wants an energy drink that can give them an intense energy rush with the taste of sweet-citrus.
