Verve is an energy drink created by Vemma Nutrition Company which is based in Arizona, United States. The 245 milliliter slim can has a very unique design, below the Verve logo are five word that says “the insanely healthy energy drink”. This tagline caught my attention because there are many energy drinks out there that claimed they are healthy but they usually do not give enough energy to be in the energy drink category. Lets see if the “insanely healthy energy drink” can compete with some of the best energy drinks out there.

When I took my first sip of this energy drink, my taste buds were confused. I could not relate the flavor to anything that I know, maybe because the drink was too cold. After about five sips I started to taste a citrus-tangerine flavor followed by a strange fruit flavor that was hard to describe. The strange fruit flavor tasted somewhat like mangosteen or maybe mango and reminded me of tropical fruit drinks. The brownish-orange energy juice contains very tiny pulps which adds a unique texture to the juice. The energy juice is also carbonated and purified by reverse osmosis for extra freshness. After drinking this energy drink halfway, I noticed a bitter tea aftertaste that made the juice a little unpleasant for me to drink. Other than that, the energy juice was easy to drink and went down smooth. Vemma must of took a lot of time perfecting the flavor of Verve. I have reviewed close to 100 energy drinks and none of them tasted like Verve.

The energy rush from Verve is what surprised me the most because it took effect within minutes and gave me an energy-head-buzz that kept me alert for over 2 hours. Another thing that surprised me is that there was no noticeable side effects, such as jitters, increase of breathing and heart rate, and best of all, there was no bad crash at the end. This energy drink would be great for long road trips and late night homework, because the energy rush keeps you up but does not give you bad side effects which makes it easier to concentrate. If you drink this energy supplement drink on a full stomach, the energy effects may be less intense.

Well, looks like the hype about this energy drink is real. Verve is one of the best energy drinks I reviewed and I recommend it to anyone who wants an energy drink that has the benefits of healthy energy drinks and the power to boost their energy effectively. For best taste, drink this energy drink cold, otherwise the light-bitter tea aftertaste is more noticeable. This energy drink contains a good amount of vitamin D and E which can be toxic to the body when consumed too much of these fat-soluble vitamins for long periods of time. To avoid this, limit yourself to one Verve energy drink per day depending on your diet.
