Herbal Teas: Natural Energy Healers
Herbal teas, also known as tisanes are great for boosting our energy because they are full of nutrients and antioxidants. Herbal teas are made from the leaves, stems, fruits, flowers and seeds of medicinal plants, generally by boiling them in water or pouring boiling water over them. Herbal teas are great for boosting our natural immunity to infections and diseases which are very important for keeping our energy balanced. When we are sick, our bodies use a lot of energy to fight micro-organisms which can mess up the flow of our energy systems. This causes a lot of stress on our bodies and we end up feeling fatigue during this period. In order to maintain high levels of energy, we need to stay as healthy as we can; herbal teas are great for keeping us healthy because they are full of antioxidants.
Each herbal tea affects our health differently, below is a list of herbal teas and their benefits. When preparing tea, it is a good idea to use a lid to preserve the nutrients. Note: Some people may be allergic to certain herbs, for precaution drink in moderate levels until you know you are not allergic to the herbs.
- Artichoke Tea – Good for increasing bile production for aiding digestion, good for heart health.
- Black Tea - Studies had shown that drinking black tea on a regular basis is beneficial for preventing coronary artery disease.
- Camomile Tea – Good for the digestive system, has been known to soothe headaches, is well known for its natural relaxing properties which is why it is popular for aiding insomnia and other sleeping problems.
- Chrysanthemum Tea – Popular for treating acne and circulatory disorder, preventing soar throat, reducing fever and aiding the immune system.
- Dill Tea – Known well for soothing the stomach and helping with insomnia.
- Echinacea Tea – Studies had shown that this tea can reduce cold symptoms. Echinacea is popular for stimulating the immune system. This herbal plant may interfere with anesthesia.
- Green Tea – Studies had shown that drinking green tea on a regular basis will lower the risk of heart disease and certain cancers. Green tea is also popular for preventing Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, treating multiple sclerosis, reducing LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) and free radical damages.
- Ginger Tea – May help with arthritis, diabetes and heart disease, encourage the release of bile from the gallbladder, effective for treating diarrhea, nausea and cold symptoms.
- Rosemary Tea – has been known to help with headaches and fever, improve blood circulation, is popular for improving memory.
- Sage Tea – The plant itself is well known for its external healing properties; sage is popular for treating inflammations of the mouth, throat, tonsils and is good for strengthening the gum. Sage tea is popular for fevers, digestion problems, kidney and liver problems, and joint pains. Sage tea is not recommended for people with epilepsy because it may trigger seizures in people with this disease. Pregnant women should also avoid sage tea because it may have some estrogen-like effects.
