What Is High-Quality Fat
Fatty food is something that we tend to have a strong craving for. Fatty foods are tasty, but at the same time they are bad for our health. Most fatty foods can cause chronic health problems in the long run. However, there is a few fats that are actually good for you. One of them is called essential fatty acids (EFAs). EFAs are important for brain memory and performance, repairing cell membranes, and are beneficial for the cardiovascular, immune, reproductive and nervous systems. Other examples of high-quality fat are fats from animals grown on pasture farms and fats from organic plant-based food. It is important to get a majority of your fat from organic plant-based foods because their fats are accompanied with essential nutrients. Many of these nutrients are needed to help your body utilize fat effectively and safely. Some of these nutrients are also important for keeping free radicals in check. Free radicals have been linked to many chronic diseases, such as arthritis, heart disease, premature aging and cancer.
