Over the pass few years, energy shots are becoming popular among adolescent and young adults. One of them is Extreme Energy 6-Hour Shot, the one I’m reviewing today is the Wild Berry flavor.
Below the bolded “Extreme Energy 6-Hour” text is the slogan “World’s Most Extreme Energy Shot,” “Works Blazing Fast,” “No Crash.” The light-red energy juice contains purified water and is loaded with vitamins, energy blends and herbal extract. Too bad its vitamins are synthetic which make them less effective. For a 2 fl. oz. bottle, Extreme Energy 6-Hour has more energy blends than most energy drinks. The energy rush from the Wild Berry flavor was intense. Within seconds of drinking the energy shot, I felt my head buzzing with energy. Its energy woke me right up but my head felt clouded, similar to smoking a cigarette for the first time. The intense energy rush made it hard to concentrate, I don’t recommend drinking this energy shot on a regular basis or before bed.
Extreme 6-Hour Shot’s energy juice is very concentrated and sweet. When taking your first gulp, you may notice a burst of sweetness and sourness follow by a light-burning sensation. The burning sensation reminded me of when drinking very weak liquor, like wine cooler. Its sweet and sour flavor is very similar to children cough medicine and smells like it too. I’m surprised that I didn’t experience any major bad side effects. Although, people have experienced heart and breathing problems after drinking these types of energy shot. The side effects I felt were light headaches and stomachaches. I also noticed that my heart and breathing rate increased slightly. To reduce the side effects, don’t drink this energy shot on a empty stomach. Extreme Energy 6-Hour Berry is very high in caffeine, 220 milligrams per bottle to be exact. If you are sensitive to caffeine, you should stay away from this energy shot. Pregnant women or children should also stay away from it. I don’t recommend drinking Extreme Energy 6-Hour on a regular basis because of its high energy blends, synthetic vitamins and synthetic chemicals. Please drink with caution.

Hello energy and health fanatics, independent thinkers, truth seekers and freedom lovers! My name is Pao L. Chang and I’m the author/founder of EnergyFanatics.com. Ever since graduating from high school, I noticed that my energy level was not as high as it used to be. While in college, I decided to educate myself about energy, health, wellness, and explore the mystery of alternative medicine and the power of spiritual healing. This journey taught me many things...
I took that stuff yesterday, around noon. Within minutes I had a allergic reaction and ended up at the hospital. I did some research and found out that a shitload of people (most of them were energy drink veterans, like myself) had the same problems.
I’m sorry to hear that. Most, if not all, energy shots are loaded with synthetic chemicals. They are not good for you. I don’t recommend anyone drinking energy shots on a regular basis. Even better, don’t drink them at all.
Energy shots are very high in caffeine. Caffeine is a mild diuretic which promotes fluid lost. It also increases magnesium depletion which is why people who drink a lot of caffeine have magnesium deficiency. Magnesium plays an important role for metabolism which is essential for energy.
My boyfriend took the shot, and called me minutes later complaining of his body burning. I bought some Benadryl and met him in about 5 minutes. His arms and legs were swelling, a rash had developed, and his throat was closing up. SCARY. Please take energy shots with caution.
I’m sorry to hear about his reaction to this energy shot. His body burning may be because of the high levels of niacin. Hopefully he is doing better. I agree, please drink with caution.
Don’t be a pussy these drinks are great and way cheaper than meth.
Getting quality sleep is best source for energy. This is greatly inhanced with a $500 device called. EARTH PULSE, an electric pulse magnetic device you put between your mattress or pillow. Magnesium is vitaly important, PL Chang has done some real research! I soaked an hour in tub with 3 pound bag epsom salt in the hot water. Very good for/too relaxed muscles, bowels & stress relief. Epson salts is a source for magnesium & recomended for soar muscles & constipation. Something the current Dr.I make Money,,, doesn’t inform their sheaple, cattle, cash cows about, nor getting B Vitamins from Brewers yeast, Choline inositol, Lycithen granules. Thiamine B-1 is energy, found in organic brown rice. Edgar Cayce teachings offer much.(do research)
I use to drink upwards of 15 to 20 cans of sodas for years and one day drank 28 and I knew it was time to stop. “soper for all most 4 years now” BUT I started drinking the moster energy drinks. Well, I got up to about 8 to 10 of them a day and had to stop. Then I found these shot’s and tried a few of them and Found tht the “Extrem Energy 6 hours worked for me. LOL anyway I found that only drinking 1/2 of it in the morning worked great and thats I’ll I take and feel great with that. Dam good thing I don’t drink booz or smoke ciggs. lol But anyway that’s my story. So please be safe with what ever you take. Good luck to all of you.

As soon as I took I had difficulty breathing and my body was burning. Actually turned red. Effects wore off after about 5 min. Wasnt sure if it was drink or not and took 1 couple days later and same reaction. I normally drink 5 hr energy or 6 hr energy, but tried this because it was much cheaper. This is either a danegerous drink or I have an allergic reaction to whats inside. I am a former gastric bypass patienet so I take these drinks because there is no carbonation or sugar
I bought 6-hour energy a few months ago because I figured it would be similar to the 5-hour energy shot which I had taken in the past, and I needed to cram for a grad school exam. I am a healthy 22 year old and I occasionally take energy shots for cramming or before a run. The experience I had with 6-hour energy was scary, though. A few minutes after I had taken the shot, I started to have intense pain in my chest, and I felt as if my chest were constricting. I was short of breath, and had an intense sharp pain in my stomach. I was overheating and thought that something was seriously wrong with my heart, and that I was going to pass out. I live in an apartment alone and I thought to myself that if I stayed in my apartment any longer I would pass out and possibly die before anyone found me. So, I tried to make my way downstairs so my doorman could call me an ambulance. Luckily, by the time I made it downstairs the feeling began to subside and after about 20 minutes of sitting I felt better, so I didn’t have to go to the hospital. I can’t imagine, though, if someone who had health problems or was older had taken this shot what would have happened. This drink is scary.. don’t take it!
Wow, scary experience. I’m glad to hear that you are okay after drinking this energy shot. Most energy shots are very high in synthetic chemicals and energy blends which is why I encourage people to drink them with care.
I do get a lot of readers warning me about the negative experiences they get from drinking energy shots. Some of them even went to the hospital after drinking them. Please drink them in moderate. Even better, avoid them if you can.
One of the reasons I take is I had the gastric bypass surgery & cant have any carbonation or high sugar. these products in moderation work great for me. This one is extremely dangerous. I wish the FDA would evaluate and pull from shelfs before someone dies. Stacker makes a 6 hr energy which isnt bad. You can get a 2 pack for $3.99. Doesnt taste as good as 5hr energy. here in cali Walgreens has the best deal I have seen yet on 5 hr energy. 2 for $4.00 some stores dont include berry in that price. Personally thats the only 1 I like. If u go to the 5hr energy website, its more expensive than the local stores sell them for. Makes no sense
i miss this stuff. i have not seen it in stores for about 2 years, i loved the orange one and it would be split into 2-3 servings. i never had the reactions some others got. i think this stuff was pulled off the market and is no longer in production. their web page has no information anymore. oh well it is what it is.
