Sugar Substitute: Healthy Natural Sweetener

There are many sugar substitute out there but many of them are not good for you. Artificial sweetener is a popular sugar substitute but is also dangerous. Independent studies suggested that many artificial sweeteners are toxic to the body, especially the brain and nervous system. Your body reacts to artificial sweetener like they are foreign agents because of their unnatural chemical structure. Many artificial sweeteners work by overstimulating the neurons within cells. This is why people may experience headaches, shakes, energy rush and other side effects when consuming artificial sweeteners. The toxicity of artificial sweetener can cause cells to die prematurely which causes damages to other tissues too.
The natural sweeteners below are good for sweetening foods and drinks because they are healthier than most sugar substitute. Although they are healthier, you should consume them in moderate levels.
Healthy natural sweeteners:
- Barley malt syrup
- Concentrated fruit juice
- Dehydrated date sugar (grounded)
- Fresh or dried fruits (diced)
- Maple sugar
- Maple syrup
- Molasses
- Unrefined cane sugar (organic)
- Turbinado sugar
