Arthritis Causes and Natural Treatments
Arthritis is a disorder that is becoming more common among young adults, especially women. There are many things that can cause arthritis. Some of the main ones are: repetitive use of joints, heavy labor, lack of sleep, poor diet, obesity, stress, vaccines, heredity, and viral or bacterial infections. People who have arthritis may experience joint pain, lost of mobility, swollen or deformed joint, stiffness and fatigue.

Two most common types of arthritis
- Rheumatoid Arthritis: An inflammatory disorder that causes joint pain by attacking the lining of joints. Rheumatoid arthritis is more common in women than men and usually occurs around age 40 and up. Although, it is becoming more common in young adults and children. Rheumatoid arthritis that is not treated properly can cause chronic joint pain which can lead to deformity.
- Osteoarthritis: A degenerative joint disorder that causes the cartilage in joints to wear down over time. Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis and can affect almost any joints. Osteoarthritis usually occurs around age 40 and worsen as we age.
Natural treatments for arthritis
- Boswellia: A natural herb that has strong anti-inflammatory properties. Herbalists claimed that it may be more effective than NSAIDs. They recommend taking 400 milligrams of boswellia three times per day.
- Glucosamine sulfate: Helps promote cartilage repair. Health experts recommend taking 500 milligram three times per day.
- Vitamin C: Has strong antioxidant properties and helps synthesize collagen. 1,000 milligrams per day is recommended by nutritionists.
- Turmeric: A natural herb that is well known for treating inflammation and skin disease because of its antitumoral, antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties. Herbalists recommend taking 400 milligrams per day.
- Vitamin D: Helps the body absorb calcium. Nutritionists recommend taking 200 IU daily.
- Food to avoid: Limit or avoid food that contains a lot of sugar and salt. Junk food, fast food, red meat and milk should be avoided as much as possible. Milk contains a lot of chemicals and most of its calcium doesn’t get absorb by the body. If you are worried about not getting enough calcium, add arugula, bok choy, turnip greens and collard greens in your diet. They are actually the best sources of high quality calcium. Eat them raw for best results.

I agree with natural treatments towards arthritis in taking Vitamins D and C. Taking to much of it though, will not help, because as I have learned in my previous health classes, once the sufficient amount of vitamins your body needs has been fulfilled, your body pretty much disposes of the rest, giving them no use or purpose to your body.

well i would like to add this one point too from the site that i follow called myphield.com that drinking loads of water also helps in cutting down the arthritis pain. Drink a minimum of 2 litres of water per day in order to keep the joints properly hydrated.
