To understand what spirituality is we need to first understand who we truly are. In general, our Western society teaches us that we are physical beings living in a physical world. In reality, we are spiritual beings living in physical bodies. If we were only physical beings, we would not be able to observe ourselves and have the imagination that we have because we would behave like robots. To understand this concept, we need to know some basic information about the human brain.
Below is an excerpt from my book Staradigm about the human brain.
Through many years of research, scientists have found that the human brain cannot tell the difference between what it sees and what it remembers. This fact tells us that the human brain works like a computer and does not have the ability to think. It can only compute and translate electrical signals into usable information similar to a computer chip, giving it the illusion that it can think. Another important fact that backs up this claim is the fact that most jellyfish has no brain. If thinking truly occurs in the brain, then jellyfishes would not be able to survive because they do not have a brain to tell them what to do.
The brain and its relationship with the soul
The human brain operates similar to a computer chip, but it does so at such a high level that it gives the illusion that it can think. The human brain does not have much consciousness. It only has enough consciousness so that it can exist and operate in the physical realm. To learn more about how the human brain and reality work, please read this article. Even though our brains work like a computer, we know we do not think like one because we have the abilities to imagine and observe ourselves. This brings up the question, who or what is the observer?
Most, if not all, of us consciously or subconsciously know that there is some kind of divine source of energy that gives us life. This divine source of energy, also known as the soul, is known in every religion around the world. The soul is the answer to the question above. It is a conscious energy that has pure potentiality. The soul is the one experiencing the emotions and is the observer of what we are experiencing through our five senses.
The evidence of life after death
Most of us who live in the Western world are conditioned to believe that there is no life after death. In other words, the life we are living right now is the only life we have. After we die, depending on our beliefs and actions, we either go to Heaven or Hell for eternity. If you are an open-minded person who is not afraid to explore the unknown, you will notice that there are many things in the world challenging these beliefs. One of them is hypnosis.
During hypnosis, people can access their past life memories, which are stored in their subconscious mind. While under hypnosis, people can remember exactly where they lived or were buried in their past lives. Some of their past lives can go back as far as a thousand years or more. This is not very scientific from a mainstream point of view, but it is good enough proof that there is some truth to reincarnation. Hypnosis is just the tip of the iceberg. There are many other things that can help us understand more about life after death.
The essence of spirituality
If you can accept that you are a spiritual being living in a physical body, then it would be easier for you to understand the knowledge I’m about to share with you. To me, true spirituality is not all about religion. I see it as the path of understanding who you are from within, and then expresses those findings outwardly with love.
Spirituality is not specifically about shaving your head and becoming a monk, staying single, doing no wrong, going to churches, obeying a priest or meditating your whole life away. Spirituality is about unity, truth, personal responsibility, forgiveness, freewill, love and peace. Most importantly, spirituality is about creating your own realities, experiencing those realities into wisdom by living within the laws of the Universe so you can evolve spiritually and return back to Creation (God).
For you to spiritually evolve, you need to learn lessons through experiencing the negative and positive polarity of experiences while living in the physical world. These negative and positive experiences are like the negative and positive charge of a battery. If one charge is not working properly, the power of the battery will be reduced or will not work. This analogy is similar to how your soul evolves. If all you experience are positive experiences, you will have a really hard time evolving and learning lessons. Not all dimensions have polarity, but in our dimension, there is polarity. This is why we experience “good or bad” things.
The true self and the false self
Your spiritual self is your true self, not your body. Your body is a vehicle for your soul/spirit to live in, so it can feel the negative and positive polarity of experiences in the physical world. These negative and positive experiences are needed to help your soul evolve. Our society does not teach us enough about our true self; therefore, most of us pay too much attention to our bodies and not enough to our souls. This causes a false identity of who we are, allowing our imbalanced egos to control many of our decisions.
When we let our egos control our decisions, our lives become chaotic and delusional, because we do not know what we want and our identities are always changing. We always feel like something is wrong, but wherever we look we cannot find the right answer. Whenever we accomplish something, we always want more because we cannot seem to fill that void within us. Eventually, our overactive egos will overpower us and prevent us from achieving our tasks in the physical world.
Below is an excerpt from my book Staradigm that goes into greater detail about certain aspects of spirituality.
The Universe that we live in has pure potentiality; thus, it has infinite possibility and creativity. This also means that knowledge is infinite, anything is possible and there is always the unknown. These are some of the qualities of the Universe that make it so beautiful and mystical. To not know everything is a wonderful thing. By knowing everything, there is little reason for us to live. True spirituality gives us the flexibility to explore all these possibilities because it respects free will. Free will is one of the most important laws of the Universe. Most, if not all, religions abuse free will, which prevents us from experiencing the infinite possibilities of the Universe. This abuse of free will also slows the growth of our souls and prevents us from understanding the truth.
What is the truth? The truth is that we are eternal spiritual beings with infinite potential. We are literally gods in training. The fact that we have love, thought, imagination and consciousness proves that we are gods in training. Love is a harmonic conscious energy of attraction that is needed to bring balance and harmony. Thought is a conscious energy that has the potential of thinking within and upon itself. It is needed to focus everything into existence. Imagination is the creative force of the mind that allows us to create abstract things that have not yet manifested. It is the entry point to the mind of Creation. Consciousness is an intelligent energy field of infinite possibility and creativity. It is the field that governs everything in the Universe. All these energy forces have one thing in common; the power to create! When we understand how these creative energy forces work, it becomes clear that we are not physical beings but are spiritual beings with god-like features. People who believe they are weak and powerless physical beings have been deceived by their authorities. They do not understand who they are, how the Universe works and their close relationship with Creation.
When we look at life from a higher perspective, there is no right or wrong; there is only positive and negative. Because of this, sin is nothing more than an idea designed to control us by putting us in a state of fear and victim consciousness. Even though there is no such thing as right or wrong, we should be careful with our actions because we really do reap what we sow. In other words, what we do to others shall be done to us. It is the Law of Attraction at work. By understanding these ideas, we should do our best to live our lives without judgment and respect others for who they really are, no matter their race, gender or beliefs.
To understand spirituality at a deeper level, you will need to understand who you truly are, why you are here, and your close relationship to the Universe and Creation (God). My book Staradigm: A Blueprint for Spiritual Growth, Happiness, Success and Well-Being will explain in great details about these things.
