Treating Hemorrhoids with Remedy
Hemorrhoid is a disorder that causes veins to swell inside or outside the rectum. There are two type of hemorrhoids, internal hemorrhoids and external hemorrhoids. Internal hemorrhoids are swollen veins inside the rectum and external hemorrhoids are swollen veins outside the rectum. Hemorrhoid is caused by many things. Some of the common ones are constipation, unhealthy diets, poor circulation on the venous system and being overweight. Certain researchers suggested that over-the-counter laxatives may help cause hemorrhoids because they promote constipation. Diet may be the most important factor for preventing hemorrhoids. If you eat healthy foods, you shouldn’t have to worry about being constipated. In fact, people who have an active lifestyle and eat foods that are high in fiber and nutrients rarely have problems with hemorrhoids. Studies have shown that by just eating healthy foods people can reverse hemorrhoid.
Natural remedies for hemorrhoids
- Mullein (verbascum thapsus): This herb is popular for treating digestive and respiratory problems. The flowers of mullein produce an oil that is well known for treating hemorrhoids.
- Horse Chestnut Seed Extract: Studies have shown that horse chestnut seed extract eliminates constipation, soothes the intestinal tract and softens stool. It is popular in Europe for treating chronic venous insufficiency (CVI). Nutritionists recommend taking 100 to 150 milligrams daily.
- Flaxseed Oil: Studies shown that flaxseed oil appears to be beneficial for arthritis, heart disease and inflammatory bowel disease. One of the substances in flaxseed oil that is responsible for this is alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), an essential fatty acid. Nutritionists recommend taking 1 to 2 tablespoon daily. Flaxseed oil is very concentrated. I don’t recommend take it in large quantities for long periods of time.
- Milk Thistle (silybum marianum): An herb that is very popular for treating liver disease. Impairment of the liver can obstruct blood circulation, therefore may help cause hemorrhoids.
- Fiber: Has the ability to soften stool which prevents constipation. Fiber also helps the body to eliminate toxins in the colon. Fruits, vegetables, cereal grains and nuts are high in fiber.
