Blueberry FruitNutrients are essential for our health because they are needed for energy, metabolism, growth and development, and preventing diseases. Without nutrients, our bodies won’t function properly and we will live very short lives. A century ago, nutrient deficiency was rare because people grew there own food and didn’t abuse the land like we do today. Now days, we abused the land by spraying it with harmful synthetic chemicals and over-farming. By abusing the land, we are making it less fertile. Therefore, many of its nutrients are depleted which can turn it into a desert. Because land used for agriculture is becoming less fertile, the food grown on it doesn’t contain good levels of nutrients. For this reason, diseases are on the rise and people are becoming more fatigued.

Ten essential nutrients for energy:

  1. Magnesium: May be the most important nutrients for energy because it is essential for over 300 enzymatic and metabolic reactions in the body. Magnesium is considered the fourth most abundant mineral in the human body. Besides its energy benefits, magnesium is also important for: immunity, bone and heart health, and preventing kidney stone, stroke, depression, diabetes, high blood pressure, stress and anxiety.
  2. Coenzyme Q10: Is very essential for energy because it is responsible for nearly 95 percent of energy production in cells, which is why it is called “the spark of life.” It is also a powerful antioxidant and has been used to prevent certain type of cancers.
  3. Vitamin E: Is a powerful antioxidant that is needed to prevent cells from being damaged by free-radicals. Vitamin E strengthens capillaries and improves blood flow. Therefore, increases the availability of oxygen which is one of the most important elements for producing energy.
  4. Vitamin B2 (also known as Riboflavin): Is great for increasing energy due to its role for metabolizing fats, carbohydrates, and other nutrients. Vitamin B2 is also required for oxygen utilization.
  5. Vitamin B5 (also known as Pantothenic Acid): Is very important for energy because it helps metabolize fats, carbohydrates, and proteins, and is needed to help control blood sugar metabolism.
  6. Vitamin B6 (also known as Pyridoxine): Helps increase energy by assisting the body to absorb and metabolize amino acids. It also increases brain and nerve functions, because it plays an important role for the manufacture of neurotransmitters and hormones.
  7. Vitamin B7 (also known as Biotin): Helps assist the release of energy from carbohydrates and is required for metabolizing fat and protein.
  8. Vitamin B12 (also known as Cobalamin): Is one of the most important B complex for increasing energy because it is needed for proper digestion, and metabolizing carbohydrates and fats. Also, it helps the body to produce red blood cells, the carrier or oxygen, and supports DNA synthesis.
  9. Iron: Is essential for energy because it helps red blood cells carry more oxygen. A lack of iron in the body will decrease the levels of oxygen in the body. Because of this, people who lack iron will also lack energy.
  10. Manganese: Plays an important role for metabolism and regulating blood sugar levels. It is also important for the nervous and immune systems, and cell health.
