The Healing Power of Forgiveness

Praying and ForgivenessThe end of the year is a good time to reflect on our past experiences and prepare ourselves for new experiences. Unfortunately not all past experiences are positive. Some past experiences are so dramatic that they cause traumas to our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies. Traumas are hard to heal because they usually damage the deeper layers of our bodies; therefore, they cannot be easily cure by medicine or surgery. One of the best methods for healing traumas is forgiveness, especially emotional and mental traumas.

The healing power of forgiveness allows the body to heal itself because it releases certain energy blockages that are caused by traumas. It also frees our bodies from stress and stimulates our energies back into balance. This is why we feel relief and more peaceful when we forgive others for causing us pain.

Below is an excerpt from my book Staradigm about the healing power of forgiveness.

It is important to know that just because we forgive others does not mean that we are approving or accepting what they have done to us. When we forgive others, it is more about setting us free from emotional and mental attachments that are causing us discomfort. It is about understanding our mistakes and letting go of the past so that we can concentrate on the present and have hope for the future. Letting go of the past is very important for our happiness and well-being, because when we are too focused on the past, we tend to become delusional and stressful. The present is where we should focus most of our energies because it is the true reality. In other words, learn from the past and live in the present.

Another benefit of forgiveness is that it can help us evolve by opening up other opportunities and bringing new experiences into our lives. It does this by releasing certain energies related to karmic lessons. Karma is similar to inertia; actions that are put into motion will continue until they are affected by an opposing force. In simpler words, the actions we do to others or others do to us will continue until they are resolved. For this reason, we tend to go through the same experiences with the same people until we break the karma cycle or learn our lessons.

Next year is going to be an exciting year because there will be a lot of changes. Some of these changes may even be out of this normal realm of experience. Whenever there is an increased in changes, there is always discomfort because of the abnormal experiences. Many of these changes will affect us at every level which can also bring certain past memories into the surface. In order to deal with these personal memories, we will need to learn how to forgive so they are no longer affecting us.

Happy holidays! Hopefully this article will make your life easier next year.

I was thinking… just as important as letting go of the past, we’re better off when we let go of the future – at least, the future we had planned. That way, we make room for the life that is ahead of us, now.
