The endocrine system contains a variety of glands that secret most of our hormones. The main glands making up this system are the pituitary, hypothalamus, thyroid, parathyroids, pineal, adrenals, and the reproductive glands. The endocrine system plays a major role in our health because it produces hormones for regulating our mood, metabolism, growth, and development. The endocrine system starts to decline in productivity as we hit our mid 20’s. Because it produces most of our hormones, the decline of its productivity largely affects all the other systems of our body.
