I have never heard of magnesium oil. I have been using magnesium citrate and malate to help ease my muscular and joint aches, but it makes me very sleepy. (I can only use it just before I go to bed, for that reason.)

I have heard that our body requires a 2:1 ratio of calcium to magnesium supplementation, so I would be a little concerned about overdoing the magnesium without first testing to see if I am deficient.

Your statement that magnesium oil “increases energy” does not go along with that I experience when I take chelated magnesium tablets. Why would the oil be different?

Good food for thought, though. I’ll have to take a walk down to my neighborhood natural food & vitamin store to see what I can learn about this.

Thanks for the information, as always.

It is strange that you get tired after taking magnesium supplement. I take magnesium supplements too but the one I take is magnesium taurate made by Ecological Formulas. I do not experience fatigue after taking it.

Pure magnesium oil also contains other trace minerals which are important for energy. If you are healthy, you may not feel the subtle change.

If you are taking magnesium supplements, you may want to use less magnesium oil. Too much of anything is bad for you. Do not use more than what is recommended and listen to your body. If you learn how to listen to your body, you will know if something is not right.
