The Illegalization of Alternative Medicine: Why You Should Oppose It

Acupuncture TherapyAlternative medicine such as herbs, tinctures, homeopathic remedies and acupuncture has been around for thousands of years. Many of our ancestors had relied on it to cure diseases and relieve pain. Some alternative medicines are so effective that the pharmaceutical industry has spent millions of dollars to keep them out of the market. The pharmaceutical industry hates alternative medicines, such as herbs and dietary supplements because many of them cannot be patented. As a result, the pharmaceutical industry cannot make a lot of money from them.

Many of the drugs created by the pharmaceutical industry are extracted from herbs or created in labs by copying the chemical structure of these herbs. This shows that the people working for the pharmaceutical industry are not smarter than nature because they rely on nature to help them create drugs to treat diseases. The methods they use to create synthetic drugs that produce similar healing properties found in herbs are usually not good for our bodies. This is because the methods they use are designed to exploit nature. To be able to create synthetic drugs that can work nearly as good as the natural chemicals found in herbs, they will need to study how every chemical compound in the herb contributes to its healing properties. This way they can see how each chemical compound affects the healing properties of the herbs as a whole.

The way nature assimilates the natural chemical compounds in herbs is similar to natural sugar. When we consume natural sugar from fruits, we are not just ingesting sugar, but also enzymes, mineral activators, co-vitamin helpers and fiber. These natural components have specific roles to play for helping our bodies to safely and effectively utilize sugar. For example, mineral activators are needed by our bodies to properly metabolize vitamins. When we consume sugar without these components, it breaks down improperly and becomes toxic. This toxic sugar is known as refined sugar.

The drugs that are created by the pharmaceutical industry are made similar to refined sugar because many of their synergistic components are missing. To make the matter worse, the drugs are usually created in a way that makes them very potent. As a result, when we take these drugs, we usually experience side effects. The side effects that we experience when taking these synthetic drugs are our bodies way of telling us that they are not good for us.

The process of creating synthetic drugs takes a lot of time and money. A great portion of the time, these drugs are not tested well; therefore, the consumers usually end up becoming the guinea pigs of these drug experiments. If the people behind the pharmaceutical industry were not so obsessed with money and learn how to work with nature, they could one day create synthetic drugs free of side effects.

Synthetic drugs are becoming very expensive and their prices are going to skyrocket because of the state of the economy. If you live in the United States, you should know how expensive synthetic drugs have become. Because synthetic drugs are becoming too expensive for the average people, many of them are turning to alternative medicine to treat their illnesses. Many of these people are finding out that a great portion of alternative medicines are cheaper than conventional medicines and work just as well or even better. This shift toward alternative medicine is causing the pharmaceutical industry to lose a lot of money. As a result, it is starting to aggressively attack people who practice alternative medicine.

The excerpt below is from naturalnews.com that discusses about a recent bill in North Carolina that could make it a felony to practice alternative medicine.

Proponents of the bill say it fixes a loophole in the current law that classifies out-of-state practitioners who practice without a license as Class I felons, while in-state practitioners who practice without a license are only guilty of a Class I misdemeanor. But what the bill actually appears to do is make it even harder for alternative practitioners who literally cannot be licensed in NC because their work is not “approved,” to practice at all. After all, who is going to be willing to provide alternative medical services for consenting patients when doing so makes them a felon?

SB 31 is really just another way to target alternative practitioners and reign in the practice of medicine to only that which has been approved by the government overlords. And the timeline for defeating this bill is very short. Alternative practitioners in NC, and those who safely and successfully use their services, need your help now to successfully defeat this bill.

Citizens for Healthcare Freedom (CHF), a nonprofit health freedom organization in NC, says the bill is “not in the interest of the citizens of North Carolina” because it affects many alternative practitioners who will be put out of business if it passes. The vast majority of these practitioners have been practicing for years, and they have helped thousands of patients over the years using methods not officially sanctioned by state medical boards.

The attack on alternative medicine has been going on for decades but it has been significantly increasing within the past few years. If we keep allowing the people behind the pharmaceutical industry to lobby our government, we may one day live in a country where we will not have a choice to choose between conventional or alternative medicine. Instead, they will be the ones making the decision for us. If they are allowed to do this, I can assure you that your health is the last thing on their minds. This is why you should oppose the illegalization of alternative medicine before it spreads nationwide.
