Dr. Mercola Natural Mint Toothpaste with Tulsi – Review
Healthy toothpastes are hard to come by these days because most toothpastes contain fluoride, sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), and other toxic ingredients. The fluoride found in conventional toothpaste is sodium fluoride, not to be confused with calcium fluoride. Calcium fluoride is naturally found in nature while sodium fluoride is a synthetic toxic waste.
The toxic chemicals in conventional toothpaste
The toxic chemicals that make up fluoride are often a mixture of toxic waste byproducts created by companies that are in the phosphate fertilizer business. For proof of this, please read this article. One of the most dangerous toxic wastes found in fluoride is a hazardous chemical called fluorosilicic acid, also known as hydrofluorosilicic acid.
Sodium fluoride is the reason why fluoridated toothpaste has this warning label, “Warnings keep out of reach of children under 6 years of age.” “If more than used for brushing is accidentally swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.” On the other hand, fluoride-free toothpaste does not have this warning label. The reason why fluoridated toothpaste has a warning label is to protect its manufacturer from lawsuits. There have been many court cases involving the death of children due to ingesting fluoride. Unfortunately, the mainstream media does not cover those cases because mainstream media is highly controlled.
Dr. Mercola Natural Mint Toothpaste with Tulsi review
Unlike most toothpaste, Dr. Mercola Natural Mint Toothpaste with Tulsi is free of fluoride and is also free of sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), not to be confused with sodium lauroyl lactylate (SLL). SLL is not the same as SLS which is a harsh chemical and an irritant. Unlike SLS, SLL is mild on the skin and is a natural emulsifiers derived from the sodium salt of lactic acid. Dr. Mercola Natural Mint Toothpaste with Tulsi does contain SLL.
This natural mint toothpaste invented by Dr. Mercola is one of my favorite toothpastes to use. This toothpaste has a strong fresh mint flavor and is soft on the teeth. Its 6 oz tube is easy to squeeze and can last for weeks. After brushing my teeth with this toothpaste, I noticed a fresh mint-flavored sensation that lasted for about half an hour.
The thing that separates this fluoride-free toothpaste from its competitors is its ingredients. Below is a list of some of the ingredients that caught my attention.
- Organic Aloe Vera Juice: Helps to cleanse the teeth and soothe the mouth.
- Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda): Promotes whitening and helps freshen breath.
- Essential Oil Blend: Made from natural peppermint, eucalyptus, cardamom, and anise for breath freshening.
- Organic Tapioca Starch: Used traditionally in the West Indies as a basis for oral vitality.
- Stevia Leaf Extract: A natural sugar free sweetener that is tooth-friendly.
- Tea Tree Oil: Beneficial for oral hygiene.
- Tulsi Oil: Freshens breath and promotes healthy teeth.
