Acupuncture is an energy healing technique that helps stimulate the flow of energy of the body back into a more balance state. The stimulation of the body is done by inserting needles and applying heat at precise acupuncture points (acupoints), which are small energy centers located throughout the surface of the body. According to Chinese ancient teachings, acupuncture points are tiny electromagnetic energy centers that are arranged along the 14 meridians.
It is important to know that acupuncture points are not only found on the fourteen meridians, but are also found all over the surface of the skin and within the body. These tiny energy centers are where acupuncture needles or acupressure are applied to relieve chronic pain, treat illnesses and increase energy.
How energy blockages can cause pain and other health problems
Acupuncturists believe that there are channels of energy that run in certain patterns throughout the body. These channels of energy flow similar to how rivers flow on land. Many acupuncturists call these channels as meridians. When these meridians are blocked or restricted, the natural flow of energy in the body is disrupted, which can lead to health problems in the near future, such as chronic pain, migraines and arthritis.
The purpose of using needles and heat during an acupuncture session is to stimulate the flows of energy within the meridians back into balance; therefore, allowing the energy in the meridians to flow freely again. Once this occur, the energy can flow throughout the body with less restriction; therefore, it can nourish the body back into a better state of health. Once the body is nourished with healing energy, it can counter pain better.

A new study of acupuncture — the most rigorous and detailed analysis of the treatment to date — found that it can ease migraines and arthritis and other forms of chronic pain.
The findings provide strong scientific support for an age-old therapy used by an estimated three million Americans each year. Though acupuncture has been studied for decades, the body of medical research on it has been mixed and mired to some extent by small and poor-quality studies. Financed by the National Institutes of Health and carried out over about half a decade, the new research was a detailed analysis of earlier research that involved data on nearly 18,000 patients.
The researchers, who published their results in Archives of Internal Medicine, found that acupuncture outperformed sham treatments and standard care when used by people suffering from osteoarthritis, migraines and chronic back, neck and shoulder pain.
If done correctly, acupuncture has the potential to heal the body at the energetic level. However, it does not heal the body at its very core, which is the original energy template (Kathara Grid) upon which our bodies manifest into physicality.
The original energy template or Kathara Grid is located many levels below the meridians and acupuncture points. Metaphorically speaking, think of the original energy template as DNA, and meridians and acupuncture points as cells, and you will have a general idea of how deep the original energy template is located within the many layers of energy structure that govern the evolution of the human body.
Even though acupuncture does not heal the body at its deepest level, acupuncture still does a great job stimulating the body’s energy back into balance and activating its natural healing system. Because of acupuncture healing features, it is a great alternative method for relieving chronic pain, migraines and arthritis. Plus, it is a lot cheaper than going to the doctor or using prescription drugs.
