While it’s possible to take supplements to make up for any deficiencies in diet, the best way to get the vitamins and minerals your body needs to fight cancer is by eating more anti-cancer foods.

To make it harder for cancer to thrive in your body, you need to stop eating processed food or reduce your processed food intake. In addition, take steps to increase the amount of alkaline foods you eat, because they are some of the strongest anti-cancer foods.

What are alkaline foods?

Everything you consume creates a chemical reaction that results in alkaline ash, which is a bicarbonate, to be released into the body. This helps the body absorb the essential minerals from these anti-cancer foods and gives your cells the energy needed to get through the day. The same process can also create a buildup of fluid in the body. Alkaline foods help your body maintain optimum fluid levels so that it can work properly.

Nutritionists, especially Dr. Ragnar Berg, recommend that you set up a meal plan that consists of 80% organic alkaline food. This type of anti-cancer food helps prevent your blood from becoming acidic, because it provides your body with the right nutrients to neutralize acid in your blood. Cancer thrives the best in a body that is acidic.

Alkaline foods that are rich in anti-cancer properties (organic preferred):

  • Bamboo
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Melon
  • Alfalfa sprouts
  • Lemon
  • Almonds
  • Parsley
  • Lemon
  • Limes
  • Watermelon
  • Cantaloupe
  • Broccoli
  • Kelp
  • Bamboo shoots
  • Papaya
  • Alfalfa sprouts

What happens when you eat organic alkaline foods?

Eating organic alkaline foods makes it possible to do several things all at once. These things include:

  • Lowering the levels of carbon dioxide in the body
  • Keeping blood cells infused with plenty of oxygen
  • Maintaining kidney health
  • Providing your cells with the energy needed to fight any cancer cells that form

One of the surprising positive side effects people experience when switching to a high alkaline diet is that they have an easier time breathing. The reason for this is because when the blood’s pH level gets too low due to health problems and malnutrition, respiratory action can be delayed. For this reason, it’s possible that people who struggle to breath or have asthma might actually be suffering from acidosis (acidic blood).

How alkaline foods prevent cancer

When your body consistently has a high alkaline pH, it means the cell tissues are very oxygenated, approximately 20 times more oxygenated than the cells of people who don’t consume a high alkaline diet. The increased oxygen levels make it possible for the cells to destroy any abnormal cells, including cancerous cells.

When you’re preparing your alkaline foods, it’s important to remember that the more they get cooked, the less nutritional value these anti-cancer foods have. In some cases, the cooking process removes the minerals that are essential for fighting cancer. For the best probability at staying cancer free, if possible, eat them in their raw state and choose the organic ones.

I feel that while it’s important to enjoy a diet that’s high in alkaline foods, it’s also important to know that this anti-cancer diet can also cause your body to be deficient in other ways. A diet that is rich in alkaline foods could mean your body is lacking in other essential minerals which include:

  • Potassium
  • Calcium
  • Sodium
  • Magnesium

You will need to add foods containing high levels of these essential minerals to your alkaline rich diet. These four nutrients are important for boosting your energy and fighting cancer, especially magnesium.
