In the beginning of this month (April), the California Senate Health Committee passed a genetically modified organism (GMO) bill, which requires genetically modified organism to be labeled. This bill is called SB 1381. Even though this bill passed the California Senate Health Committee, it still needs to go through the Senate Judiciary or Agriculture Committee, so it is still too early to celebrate.
