Do you remember back in the days when you were always hyper as a kid? What happen to all that energy? There are many reasons why our energy decreases as we get older. One of the most important reasons has to do with our physical state of health. Fortunately, there are simple ways to bring back some of that energy. Here are 10 simple energy tips to improve your health and increase your energy, so that you feel like a teen again.

Energy tip #1: Increase your magnesium intake

Magnesium is an essential mineral that is required for the production of energy. Furthermore, it is needed for over 300 enzymatic and metabolic reactions in the body. The best sources of magnesium are green vegetables, fruits, brown rice, soybeans, nuts, and legumes. As for supplement, two of the best sources of magnesium are magnesium taurate and magnesium citrate, because they are easy to utilize by the body. The types of magnesium that are hard for the body to use are magnesium oxide, magnesium glutamate, and magnesium aspartate.

Energy tip #2: Increase your iron intake

Iron is needed by red blood cells to transport oxygen throughout the body. It encourages a restful night’s sleep and boosts and maintains energy levels. Some of the healthiest sources of iron are nuts, seeds, beans, lentils, whole grains, spinach, swish chard, and wild blue-green algae. As for meat, chicken, turkey, pork, and beef are good sources of iron. If you are health conscious, get your iron from organic plant foods, because they are much healthier than meat foods.

Energy tip #3: Eat your B vitamins

B vitamins are great for boosting energy, because they work together to increase metabolism and enhance the nervous system and immune system. B vitamins also support healthy blood, teeth, gums, hair, and skin. The best and healthiest sources of B vitamins are fresh organic vegetables, fruits, whole grains, brown rice, beans, nuts, and green leafy vegetables. Energy tip #4: Think positive!

Your mind is your greatest ally but it can also be a drain on your energy if you allow it to have too many negative thoughts. These types of thoughts often cause stress, leading to fatigue. Besides reducing negative thoughts, avoid thoughts that make you lazy, such as I’m too tired to do anything. Instead, tell yourself that you want to go outside and play. By simply changing your focus from the problem of being tired to the thought of wanting to do something, you create a sense of motivation that stimulates your energy, causing you to have more energy.

Energy tip #5: Detox your body of toxins

If you eat a lot of conventional food and junk food, you are saturating your body with toxins, such as refined sugar, artificial sweeteners, pesticides, heavy metals, and genetically modified organisms (GMOs). These toxins are very harmful to your cells. When your cells are too damaged by toxins, they can’t perform at their peak, causing you to lack energy. To detox your body of toxins, go on a detox diet containing organic plant foods. Sauna therapy and detox bath are also great for detoxing toxins.

Energy tip #6: Exercise

Exercise helps you lose weight and keeps your organs, cells, and body healthy. Exercise also stimulates your body to detox toxins faster. For these reasons, exercise plays an important role for increasing your energy. Jogging and speed walking are great examples of simple exercises. If you want to increase and balance your energy, energy exercises are recommended. Yoga, tai chi and qigong are great examples of energy exercises that can increase and balance your energy.

Energy tip #7: Balance your sexual energy

Sexual energy is one of the primal energies that moves through everyone’s body. How we channel it can either increase our energy or deplete it. Sex releases endorphins in your body and speeds up your metabolism. Practice regular safe sex, in an environment of love for optimal energy benefit. Nature created sex to strengthen the personal connection between the male and female and to help balance the sacred masculine and feminine energy. When the masculine and feminine energy are more balanced, you feel more at peace and have more energy.

Energy tip #8: Juice fasting

Due to an increase of toxins in the environment, your body needs more nutrients to help it cleanse itself of toxins. One of the fastest and simplest ways to provide your body with nutrients is by drinking fresh organic juice. Going on an organic juice fast diet program is often recommended. An organic juice fast program can last from 3 days to 10 days or longer. When you are on this program, you will be asked to drink only organic fruit and vegetable juice along with filtered water. After a day or two of doing this, you will notice a significant improvement in energy and you may even lose a few pound of weight.

Energy tip #9: Get enough sleep

Dr. Eva Cwynar, author of The Fatigue Solution, sums up how sleep affects energy with this simple, but powerful statement, “Sleep deprivation equals energy depletion.” Trust your body, sometimes you need extra sleep at the most inconvenient times. If you put your sleep first, and surrender to it whenever it calls, you will find your overall energy slowly increase over time. You should get at least 6 to 8 hours of sleep each day.

Energy tip #10: Spend time outdoors

Spending time out in the sun is great for boosting your energy naturally. The sun has a sacred connection with your body and synchronizes well with your energy. This is why when you go outside during a sunny day, you immediately feel energized. Being outdoor also strengthens your connection with mother Earth. Without mother Earth’s energy to nourish you, you cannot survive since you rely on it to live. One of the best ways to connect with the healing energy of Earth is through grounding (earthing) or walking barefoot on soil.
