Picture of U Plug Products Green Magnet Powered GeneratorThe U-Plug Products Generator is a “free energy” device that harnesses the energy of magnets to produce electricity to power electronic devices, small appliances, and other products that need electricity to function. U-Plug Products LLC is a company based in Irving, IL, USA. This company has only been out in the public for nearly a year, so it is still a very young company.

Here is a short summary from U-PlugProducts.com about the company U-Plug Products:

Over 7 Years ago our Founder, Tim Slavings, stumbled upon the technology that is used in the current U-Plug. He noticed an odd occurrence while working on another energy saving system; he then played with the idea for a few years until he made the demonstrator model. In 2013 Tim showed this new technology to other investors. They were excited and partnered with Tim to help bring this product to the consumer market. Now in the summer of 2015, and we are proud to announce our first product in the U-Plug Products line, the U-Plug Green. The design is with the average consumer in mind for a portable and lightweight unibody generator giving off 2000 Watts. Not only is this a breakthrough in compact generators but a breakthrough in energy, giving off no emissions and using no fuel. Most people have called it amazing, radical, and revolutionary, but we call it U-Plug.

The power systems of U-Plug Products are powered by rare earth magnets and should last about 20 years or more. According to U-Plug Products, their power generators are portable, lightweight, clean, and very quiet, and has zero maintenance. Furthermore, they do not need fuels to operate and will run for years with no emissions. To use the U-Plug Products Generator to power your electronic device or small appliance, all you need to do is plug the cord into the electrical outlet of the generator.

As described on PESWiki.com:

This generator is only 24 inches tall, 6 inches in diameter, produces 115 volts at 17.3 amps of power [1990 Watts], and weighs only 20 pounds.

We developed a simplified planetary gear system with multiple shafts that have our magnets in them. Each magnet can pick up over 2500 pounds each. There are several magnets per shaft, and when they are in the proper position they begin to spin. This will cause a push pull type of effect that has worked quite well for over 2 1/2 years. Then we surround the unit with the field coils to generate the power.

The U-Plug Green system will generate between 17.25 amps and 19.25 amps and is controlled by 2 circuit boards located at the top of the unit. We have set the unit at 2000 watts maximum for reliability.

The circuit boards control the speed, amperage, and the output wattage so that the coils are not damaged. Other safety devices inside the unit are provided in case water gets inside, and to protect it from overheating.

Maximum operating temperature is 125 degrees Fahrenheit, and so far we have found that the unit will operate at -60 degrees F with no problems.

When you purchase our product it comes with a 3 year warranty.

Should we not reach our [fundraiser] goal, we will continue to build 1 unit for one person, one household, one business, one community at a time.

Does the U-Plug Products Generator work as well as they claim? We will not know for sure until it is available for the public to purchase. According to the FAQ page on U-PlugProducts.com, the “U Plug generator will be sold at $1,795 MSRP, plus processing and handling, and tax where appropriate”. Furthermore, their magnet powered generators are not available for sale yet. When the generators are ready to purchase, they will sell them to distributors only.

there is a lot lacking in terms of what this all exactly is ? does it have user replaceable parts in case of failure like circuit boards ? while the magnets can last 20 years how long do the other parts last before failure ? If you must use the warranty what is the turnaround time in other words how long will it take if i need power ? A warranty is only as good as long the company is still in business . Has the product been used in real world scenarios,in boats, jeep travel, or strictly designed to sit in house not to be moved much ? Who pays for shipping in case of failure of product ? Do you or will have rma issued?
Will the product be up-gradable in the future with more powerful circuit boards ? Limited information means the consumer is not fully informed on there buying purchase .

    • These are good questions and I’m sure answers are going to be forthcoming.
I just got into this and will have a few of my own as time goes on.
1700 watts will power all my lighting and provide enough to run my comp and other things.
I’ve lived off grid and this would be a great way to charge battery banks to maintain the house.
