The Seven Chakras: Crown Chakra

Image provided by Ged Carroll
Seventh ChakraThe crown chakra (seventh chakra), also known as sahasrara, is the last chakra of the seven main chakras of the body. It is violet in color and is located at the top of the head. This violet energy center spins clockwise and is the gateway between the physical self and universal self. It is the chakra that connects us to the spiritual world and beyond. The crown chakra’s energy vibrates at a frequency that is higher than all the other chakras. Its frequency is so high that it can connect us to spiritual realms beyond our wildest imagination. The crown chakra represent consciousness which is an intelligent field of infinite possibilities, no beginning and no end. It is associated with divine wisdom, enlightenment, bliss and unity.

The crown chakra has a strong connection to the pineal gland which is located at the center of the brain. Scientist believed that the pineal gland is responsible for making us dream. The pineal gland manufactures dimethyltryptamine (DMT) which is a natural psychedelic chemical believed to have mystical properties. The pineal gland acts like a hypergate that connect us to other dimensions, such as the dream plane and spiritual plane. Most people don’t realize that when they are dreaming, they are actually activating their psychic abilities. Like the third eye chakra, the crown chakra gives us the ability to transcend but also connect us to the source of all that is (consciousness).

People who have a balance crown chakra are very wise and very connected to consciousness. They are incredible spiritual leaders who understand the universal way of life. They are also great healers and have incredible psychic abilities. People with an overactive crown chakra may have a lot of strange encounters with other realms. They may feel disconnected from the physical world and have a hard time connecting with people. Many of these people are put on psychiatric medication which really doesn’t help them. Instead of putting them on medication, they should be put on a training program to help them balance their crown chakra.

How to clear and balance your crown chakra:

  1. Find a comfortable area and lie on your back.
  2. Place one of your hands (palm facing top of the head) a few inches above your crown chakra and slowly move your hand in a counter-clockwise circular motion. Move your hand by going to the right first, then forward, left and back. Do this energy exercise for 3-7 minutes or until you feel it is right to stop. When you are done shake your hand to clear off the negative energy.
  3. Place your hand back to the starting position in step 2. This time move it in a slow clockwise circular motion. Do this exercise for half the time of step 2 or until you feel it is right to stop. When you are done shake your hand to clear off unwanted energy.
  4. The counter-clockwise hand motion is useful for removing negative energies from the crown chakra. The clockwise hand motion helps reharmonize its energy. This exercise is best done with a partner but is not necessary.

Other ways to clear and balance your crown chakra:

  • Crystals: Clear and violet crystals or stones are great for stimulating the crown chakra. Some popular stones are clear calcite, danburite and zircon. Visit this page for more details about using crystals.
  • Light visualization: Imagine a transparent violet ball floating on top of your head. Visualize that this is your crown chakra. Mentally look or sense this violet ball of energy shining brightly toward the heaven. Visualize a pure white light illuminating from the inside of your crown chakra. Visualize this white light cleansing its energy until it is illuminating beautiful violet colors. Cleansing your chakra of dark energy may take a few weeks or months so please be patient.

The Seven Chakras: Third Eye Chakra

Image provided by Ged Carroll
Third Eye ChakraThe third eye chakra (sixth chakra), also known as ajna, is a blue/indigo energy center located between the eyes or forehead. Its energy spins clockwise and powers the eyes, ears, hypothalamus, pituitary gland and other sections of the brain (except the top of the brain). The main reason why it is called the third eye chakra is because it operates and looks similar to an eye. This third eye represent the element light and has the ability to see both physically and intuitively. The third eye chakra has a strong connection to the pituitary gland which is located near the center of the brain.

The third eye chakra and the crown chakra (seventh chakra) is where transcendence can happen. The third eye chakra gives us access to information of the past, present and future. Its energy vibrates at such a high frequency that it transcends the physical dimensions of the lower chakras. Most people’s third eye is usually closed because their thoughts are too distracted and egocentric. If people clear their minds and practice opening their third eyes, in time they may be able to use this psychic energy to guide them. People who have a balanced third eye chakra are clear minded and balanced. They look at life from a higher perspective and are great guides because they are very wise. They are also very connected to nature and consciousness. People who have an unbalanced third eye chakra will usually have problem with mental clarity, seeing, hearing and have a hard time accepting the truth. They tend to be delusional because many of their decisions are made by their ego. They are more connected to their ego (false-self) instead of their spirit (true-self). An unbalanced third eye chakra may results in blindness, migraines, sleep disorders, depression and schizophrenia.

How to clear and balance your third eye chakra:

  1. Find a comfortable area and lie on your back.
  2. Place one of your hands (palm facing forehead) a few inches above your third eye chakra and slowly move your hand in a counter-clockwise circular motion. Move your hand by going to the right first, then down, left and up. Do this energy exercise for 3-7 minutes, then shake your hand to clear off the negative energy.
  3. Place the same hand back to the starting position in step 2. This time move it in a slow clockwise circular motion. Do this exercise for half the time of step 2. When you are done shake your hand to clear off unwanted energy.
  4. The counter-clockwise hand motion helps remove negative energies from the third eye chakra. The clockwise hand motion helps reharmonize its energy. This exercise is best done with a partner but is not necessary.

Other ways to clear and balance your third eye chakra:

  • Crystals: Blue and indigo crystals or stones are great for stimulating the third eye chakra. Some popular stones are ametrine, amethyst, azurite and sugilite. Visit this page for more details about using crystals.
  • Light visualization: Imagine a transparent indigo ball behind your forehead. Visualize that this is your third eye chakra. Mentally look or sense this indigo ball of energy shining brightly. Some people may see an oval shape that looks similar to an eye. If what you see is mostly dark colors, your third eye chakra may be very dirty. To clean it, visualize a pure white light illuminating from the inside of your third eye. Visualize this white light cleansing its energy until it is illuminating beautiful blue and indigo colors. Cleaning your chakra of dark energy may take a few weeks or months so please be patient.

Fifth ChakraThe throat chakra (fifth chakra), also known as vishuddha, is the chakra that deals with communication and creativity. Its turquoise (light-blue) energy spins clockwise and is located by the throat. The throat chakra represent the element sound. This turquoise energy gives us communication, creative expression and wisdom. The throat chakra has a very unique role. Within its energy field is where all information from the seven main chakras is translated into a form of expression that is unique to each person. The throat chakra is responsible for keeping the thyroid, throat, mouth, neck, shoulders and lymphs balanced. Because it regulates the thyroid, it plays a vital role for metabolism. One of the reasons why people’s metabolism decreases is because their thyroid gland is not working properly.

People with a weak or blocked throat chakra may not get along well with people because they don’t like to communicate or lack communication skills. They may stutter when they speak or have difficulty expressing their feelings through speech. People with a overactive throat chakra may dominant people with their speech and have a hard time being quiet. Do this hand exercise for 3-7 minutes or until you feel it is time to stop, then shake your hand to clear off the negative energy.
  3. Next, place your hand back to the same starting position in step 2. This time move your hand in a slow clockwise circular motion. Do this exercise for half the time of the exercise in step 2. When you are done shake your hand to clear off the energy.
  4. The counter-clockwise hand motion is used to remove negative energies. The clockwise hand motion is used to reharmonize its energy so it is balanced. You may want to find a partner to help you do this exercise because the results are usually better. Your partner should be the one doing the hand movements while you relax.

The Seven Chakras: Heart Chakra

Image provided by Ged Carroll
Fourth ChakraThe heart chakra (fourth chakra), also known as anahata, is a clockwise spinning energy center located by the chest. One of the reasons why it is called the heart chakra is because it is located right in front of the heart. Its energy shines with the color of green and represent the element air. The heart chakra represent: love, compassion, balance, forgiveness, harmony, peace, unity and truth. It allows us to love and feel compassion toward others so we can establish relationship to help us grow spiritually. This energy center is responsible for keeping the thymus, heart, lung and arms healthy.

People who have balanced heart chakras are very compassionate and are unconditional lovers. Their decisions and judgments are usually guided by the heart and not the brain. Our society today does a great job keeping our heart chakra imbalanced. Because of this, many people are either suffering from loving too much or too little. People who love too much will usually experience a lot of pain because they can’t let go. They become too involve with people’s personal problems which can manifest into their realities. They hate to see people suffer and will go beyond what they have to do to make people happy. By loving too much, it prevents their love ones from growing independently. People who love too little are usually scare of love because they don’t want to get hurt. Some may even feel unworthy of love or become skeptical about love. Others may treat love as a game to hurt their love ones because they lack compassion and understanding. If people’s heart chakras are imbalanced, they may experience physical symptoms, such as high blood pressure, respiratory problems, chest pain and immune deficiency.

Our education system did a poor job teaching us about how the heart worked. In school we were taught that the main job of the heart was to pump blood throughout the body. This was not a very accurate definition of how the heart worked. According to Neurocardiologist, about 60 percent of heart cells are neuron cells, not muscle cells. Neurocardiologist found out that the heart operated similar to the brain and can also think independently. The heart and brain are always communicating with each other but at the subconscious level. The heart gives us universal characteristics while the brain gives us individual characteristics. The consciousness of the heart radiates out a form of electromagnetic energy that looks like a torus. This electromagnetic field (aura) is what protect us and connect us to everything in universe. Through the vibrational energy field of the heart, we build our experience of ourselves and help consciousness expand. Because the heart gives us universal characteristic, having a blocked heart chakra will cause problems for our body, mind and spirit.

How to clear and balance your heart chakra:

  1. Find a comfortable place inside or outside and lie on your back.
  2. Place one of your hands (palm facing body) a few inches above your heart chakra and slowly move your hand in a counter-clockwise circular motion. Move it in a circular motion by going to the right first, then down, left and up. Do this hand exercise for about 3-7 minutes or until you feel it is time to stop, then shake your hand to clear off the negative energy.
  3. Place the same hand back to the same starting position. This time move it in a slow clockwise circular motion. Do this exercise for half the time of the exercise in step 2. When you are done shake your hand to clear off the negative energy.
  4. The counter-clockwise hand motion helps remove negative energies from the heart chakra. The clockwise hand motion helps reharmonize the chakra so it is healthy and balance. This exercise is best done with a partner but is not necessary. Your partner should be the one doing the hand movements while you relax.
