The Main Causes of Addiction

addiction addictAddictions is a disorder that causes people to act in a compulsive behavior that is hard for them to control. Their compulsive behaviors are usually satisfied through the dependence of certain substances or stimulus, such as drug, sex, food and money. In order to find the main causes of addiction we need to find the root causes of it. To do this we need to not only study our physical bodies but also our energetic bodies. When we break matter down to the fundamentals, it is made of conscious energy that is intelligent in nature. Our bodies are made of matter; therefore, they are also made of intelligent energy. This energy is always vibrating toward a state of balance and harmony. Vibration is needed to give energy expressions. These expressions have infinite possibility; therefore, they can manifest into anything. All the different types of material that we see in our realities and chemical in our bodies are nothing more than expressions of energies. This also means that addiction is an expression of energies. Addiction occurs when our energies are either blocked or out of balance.

There are many things that can cause our energies to become blocked or imbalanced. For the case of addiction, it usually has to do with something that we don’t understand or are fearful of. Addiction is a misunderstanding of the desires that make us temporarily happy. When we don’t understand our desires, we tend to become addicted to them because they give us a false sense of happiness. This kind of happiness is temporary which is why we always want more. The desire to always want more is caused by not understanding why we wanted the desire in the first place. Once we understand our desires, our addictions will decrease or stop because we have gained enough knowledge of the desired experience. By achieving this level of knowledge, we can arrive at deeper levels of understanding. This can cause hidden emotions to rise from our subconscious to our conscious minds. As a result, we can find the emotions that are causing our addictions. The idea of addiction as something that starts at the subconscious level is well known in the advertisement industry. This is why they used subliminal messages in their ads to hypnotize people’s mind. The subconscious mind is more powerful than the conscious mind because it operates at a high level of consciousness. This is why the subconscious mind can detect certain things the the conscious mind can’t. Subliminal messages are designed to target the subconscious mind. Below is a short video clip showing how subliminal messages are used in ads.

Subliminal Sex Messages and Pornography in Advertising

At the physical level, addiction can cause us to become dependent on certain materials to give us a sense of happiness. For example, when we use drugs on a regular basis our bodies can become addicted to them. If this happens, our bodies can have withdrawal symptoms when they are not provided with drugs. Symptoms can range from headaches, seizures, depression and emotion problems. Our egos can also make us addicted to certain things. When our egos become overactive they can trigger certain compulsive characteristics that we have. The ego is the false self, when overactive it can cause us to do compulsive things that can lead to stressful situations. Two good ways to bring our egos back into balance is to understand who we truly are and increase our self-empowerment.

Teeth MolarGingivitis is a condition in which the gum surrounding the teeth is inflamed or swollen. When people don’t brush their teeth and floss regularly, bacteria can buildup near their gum line. In time, bacteria can cause their gums to become inflamed. Smoking, brushing too hard, unhealthy diets and not flossing regularly can also increase the risk of gingivitis. This disease can cause tooth loss and pain around the jaw.

Natural treatments and remedies for gingivitis

  • Baking soda: Add baking soda into a small cup of water, then dip your finger into the solution and rub it on the affected areas. Next, brush your teeth and rinse.
  • Tea tree oil mouthwash: Tea tree oil is great for preventing bacteria growth because of its antibacterial properties. Use it to rinse your mouth at least twice a day.

Being Present: The Secret to Balance and Inner Peace

Image provided by Lululemon Athletica
Gril YogaBeing present is the state of focusing our thoughts into the moment of now. This moment of now is the true reality. It is the still point between the conscious and subconscious mind, and the past and future. The moment of now is where balance can take place because it increases the connect to our souls. This present state of being is where we return to when we sleep. Sleep is very important for rejuvenating all the systems of our bodies. More importantly, sleep helps bring our energies back into balance and gives us a sense of inner peace. This is one of the reasons why we feel more energized and balanced after we sleep.

Being in the moment of now doesn’t take much thought power, but because of distractions most of us tend to have a hard time staying in this moment. Instead of taking some time to enjoy the peaceful moment of now, we tend to let our minds drift by watching TV, talking on the phone, judging others and our bodies, thinking about our past failures and mistakes, thinking about our future goals, such as the house of our dreams or how we can become rich, etc. Distractions are not necessarily bad things, but when we constantly allowed them to interferer with our inner peace, our energies can become imbalanced. This can lead to stress, pain, suffering and health problems. Stress is something we experience a lot of when we concentrate too much on the past and future. In reality, there is no past and future, just the present. The past and future are illusions which are manifested through our egos and consciousness. The ego is our tape recorder. It is the observer of our thoughts, wants and needs, and records our experiences in a linear fashion. This is one of the reasons why we sense time as linear instead of simultaneous. In reality, time is also an illusion because it is an effect caused by the recording process of the mind. Because the past and future are illusions, if we focused too much on them, we become delusional which can bring pain and suffering into our lives. The past and future are important aspects of our lives, but we should used them wisely so they don’t dominate the present.

In order for us to find inner peace, we need to reduce distractions by being more in the present. When we shift our awareness to the present, we begin to see the world very differently. This shift of awareness will allow us to see the world for what it really is. Instead of seeing the world as a static, linear, monochromatic place, we will start to see it as a dynamic, non-linear, colorful and beautiful place. A great way to help us be in the present is to open ourselves to nature. We can do this by finding a quiet place outside to sit, then focus our awareness to our breathing, feel the air going in our lungs as we inhale and out our lungs as we exhale, feel the sun penetrating our skin and wind blowing our hair, then turn our awareness toward our bodies and feel the beingness within us. These techniques will help shift our awareness to the present moment; therefore, help us find inner peace. Another great way to help us be in the present and find inner peace is to meditate.

Perfecting the art of balance isn’t something that can be done for long periods of time because there always have to be movements to or away from the still point (perfect balance). Without these movements from the still point there will be no experience. The methods in this article can help us achieve a certain level of balance but it can’t help us achieve perfect balance. In order for us to achieve a level near perfect balance, we will need to learn how to effectively use these three laws of the Universe: Law of Attraction, Law of Intention, and Law of Allowance. These three laws combined bring forth balance and harmony which is the fourth law. Being in the present and learning to effectively use the three laws are the keys to finding balance and inner peace.
