Why Junk Food Is Bad
Most junk food is processed food; thus, it is no longer in its natural state and is stripped of certain nutrients. In the fast food industry, certain synthetic chemicals and artificial growth hormones are added to vegetables and livestock to reduce the time it takes to grow them. Junk foods such as candy, chips, popcorn, marshmallows, candy bar, chewing gum and sodas are usually added with chemical preservatives and synthetic vitamins. The purpose of this is to reduce cost and prolong its shelf life. These are some of the many reasons why junk food is bad for us.
