Table Salt Health Risks and Alternatives
Table salt is consumed by us in very high quantities because it is found in almost all processed food, plus most of us use it to flavor our food. Table salt is not the same as the salt we find in nature. Salt made by nature is widely known as sodium. The table salt we buy at stores is sodium chloride. Table salt is processed; therefore, some of its nutrients are stripped away. During the processing stage, dozens of hazardous chemicals are added to the salt. Most salts in conventional stores are also cleansed with bleach which is why it is white in color. Some salt may be created by using crude oil extract.
